Meyer's Parrot Care Information

Meyer's parrots are said to be like a "more laid back" Senegal. Like Senegals they love to play on the backs with their feet gripping onto toys. And like Senegals they go through a "nippy" time around maturity. Meyer's Parrots usually are more experimental then their Senegal cousins. They are more prone to explore, which at times can get them into trouble. Meyers like to meet new people and see new things without being nervous and afraid. They also are less of a One-Person bird and more of a "family" bird.

Meyer's parrots can learn a few words but most stick to whistling. Unlike Senegals they seem to use less "attention getting" whistles and stick to their own pleasant sounding whistles. Meyer's Parrots are known for being one of the "quietest" parrots but remember, all parrots make noise!
